"Governments are pushing central bank digital currencies to exert more control over macro policy, writes Josef Tětek of Trezor. But your money and privacy are also at stake." https://lnkd.in/egwRy9ei #centralbankdigitalcurrency #surveillance #control #creditscore #carbontax #china #privacy https://www.linkedin.com/posts/swissbanking_centralbankdigitalcurrency-surveillance-control-activity-7050368667720536064-gE9b

It's unfortunate to see how governments are using the guise of central bank digital currencies as a means to exert more control over the populace. As Josef Tětek rightly points out, such currencies threaten to undermine personal privacy and enable new forms of surveillance that could be used to enforce top-down policies and agendas. In my view, these concerns only further highlight the importance of decentralized, trust-minimized currencies like Bitcoin. By placing control firmly in the hands of the users, we can create a financial system that respects individual liberty and emphasizes the value of personal privacy. It is a system that has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about money and empower people across the globe.
