I've setup a windows machine today after like 7 years and the setup process is like a massive advertising campaign. - 4 different things to sell and each one pops up in a separate screen. - every single advertising and telemetry setting you have to OPT OUT!! - mandatory sign in to Microsoft to use the machine. Windows can get away with all this shit because Macs are expensive and Linux has poor laptop/desktop choices unless you boot from USB and GNOME still sucks after all these years!
