as i was typing this it has occurred to me that i really very often want to type a degrees symbol on my keyboard
right now i have this crazy layout that includes a qwerty overlay for games, because a lot of games have dumb control configuration systems that for example don't comprehend the top-left dvorak punctuation group, as these are all down bottom right away from the WASD
and my layout currently includes a dvorak phonetic layout that enables me to type the full russian cyrillic alphabet mostly without learning a new layout
but i'm pretty much done with the idea of writing in cyrillic now, and making plans to relocate to a place where people speak english, so i probably am going to spend a bit of time redesigning my keyboard... for sure, the degrees symbol is now something i want to have access to, i can wipe out the whole cyrillic layer, and i think rather just a "normal" qwerty layer i'm going to create a set of "game layers" that cluster keys to fit some of my favourite games... some of them are just so retarded, i mean, come on, M for map? while i have to keep my hand on the mouse at all times?
probably will be quite a long process of collecting all of the default key bindings for my favourite games and seeing how to compress them down to one or a few custom layers, and also, to devise some new modifier keys and key layouts so i can do other commonly needed things... and hey, probably would be nice to have a few handy shortcuts for spitting out commonly needed sequences used in Go code
