If rices are planted by private companies then the dramatic about research budget of rice's races will not happen like this news that Sun Sweet ("SUN" in Thailand Stock Exchange) has cooperated with Kasetsart University to develop corn & bean's races to improve more quality and quantity for the company's profit. Nowadays, the researches of rice's races are innovated by Rice Department (1 of departments in Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives). Furthermore, rices are planted by individual farmers thus have faced dis-economies of scale's problem that make them deficit and do not have power to improve the rice's races.
