The porn scares of new users and makes existing users leave. Spam attacks are expected and clients and relays are trying to find new ways to mitigate them, but when you spam porn your not just spamming your trying to hurt the small community

Impact. If the network gets DDoSed or spammed with dick pics, it doesn’t matter, as long as the impact is mostly the same to users. (Nostr becoming hard to use) In this case the impact was on clients, not relays

Who knows? Sometimes you hear an accusation and are like, "No way that's true. I know him, he'd never do that." And other times it's, "Eh, maybe, maybe not. I could see it." This is a case of the latter, so I am obligated to shitpost. It could also be possible that Veritas has made a comeback and is spamming us with his prolific library of depraved gay porn. Or some savvy mastodon or bluesky user thought it'd be fun to "get back at those Nostr Nazis" for pride month.

And why try to scare off users of the protocol you're building on, and trash your own reputation? Could also be nostr:npub12262qa4uhw7u8gdwlgmntqtv7aye8vdcmvszkqwgs0zchel6mz7s6cgrkj spamming himself, but that would be quite retarded and he's not retarded. Could be a third actor, wanting to watch the two of them fight and create some drama, cuz there's nothing on the telly. I don't know. 🤔 I'm reserving judgement, for now. Whoever is doing it, at least pick some higher-quality material, next time. South Park videos, or something. At the moment, I'm mostly just gobsmacked at how lazy some of the big relay devs are, as there's now other spam popping up, with the exact same youtube video over and over and over, always from the same npub, and they just let it happen. The same exact content being posted as replies to a gazillion other notes is obvious spam.
