the unpleasant scratching from #mochi the #catstr i got last night is a sign of good things it seems
this morning he is sitting on the mat in front of the oscillating heat lamp, and he just briefly grasped the corner of the mat and started biting at it
he has not been playful since he got here, and the reason for this was that he was sick and in a lot of pain, and needing to rest up and be fed good food
about half of the food i feed him now is stuff that i would eat myself, albeit maybe with more salt and maybe spices or some sauce, it makes a big difference when he is sick, because this good nutrition is feeding his immune system, and it may also be helping that the weather has been a bit warmer lately
it is going to be a very happy day when i see his tongue is no longer protruding all day long, that he's not drooling any more, and especially when the yellow stain from the bacteria in his sinus that leaks out through his nose and eyes stops staining his legs and belly... it's already substantially reducing from this now, and the playfulness is a very good sign
only i sorta wasn't prepared for the playfulness... probably need to set up some cardboard boxes and more scrunched up pieces of paper to play fetch with
#thoon he will be like a normal semi-mature cat...
the only thing i'm not so much looking forward to is the initial phase when he starts playing fighty games but hasn't learned to keep his claws retracted, i will have lots of scratches on my hands from that
but i know he will learn it after a while
so it will be worth it
i am a good cat-dad and cat-nurse... he will be very happy with his luck to find someone who loves and understands the nature of the beast
