Decentralize the things from which you draw power. Hoch die anarchie!

That really depends on if you would have your own bank accounts in a fiat standard. If you have a joint account, 1 node makes sense.
Share. But, I prefer CLN to LND so we each have our own LN instance on the same node. Same with our relay because we don't post too much.
You still sign channel state revisions with the on-chain key. I forget where I saw it but it was a compromised device not a LND specific issue. I.E. could have affected any "Hot wallet" type of program.
By what mechanism? The node has the XPRV secret and it is not propagated elsewhere. So, this is akin to having a hot wallet on your device and someone, knowing your password/passphrase, signing a transaction, and finalizing all without your knowledge. "Issue with LND + Lightning" is almost certainly user error. Stay safe, route through Tor, only connect vetted lightning wallet applications to your node.
It's not about BIP39. BIP32 is fine, I just want to access it without doing crazy command-line gymnastics. My standard Bitcoin wallet offers a way to see my XPRV without a bunch of hoops. That's all I'm saying.

I'd recognise that Adam's apple anywhere.
Pessimism is so annoying. If you have hope in your soul why channel that hope toward failure? People are stupid, sure. But a person is smart and you only talk to a person at a time. Mass communication has diluted the signal in favor of wider propagation. Talk to a person per day, and ask them to do the same. The exponential growth is beyond comprehension. Beuna suerte mi amigo.

Is it a security minded outlook? Having the ability to see the master seed for back up purposes OUTSIDE of the Lightning channel states is of use to me and yet I find myself having to go into command-line and decrypting hsm secrets. I love Core Lightning, and LND's Azeed is no better here. I am just curious if this was a conscious choice.
Yeah, turns out that was a local machine exploit not a flaw in LND. Either way, the point was risk tolerance is different at different income levels. Entrepreneurs boldly go into the darkness knowing most don't find safety. But for those who do, they forward the line of human progress.
Yeah, but there is no cold lightning HSM model.
The threat is one of a hot wallet. This is the difference between a weekend poker table and a highroller table. While both tables are as safe as you make them, there's always a criminal threat when money is in the open.
Fair, just cleaner UX, UI. Pulls from Github, and has author signatures. (Also recently added a zap feature to pay for apps you appreciate) I used to use Obtainium. It had a bit of a UI problem but overall worked. Never use Google Play. To each their own.
No Zapstore?
Has everyone forgotten about fabric being a sail material? Why are windmills using such heavy materials?
That last strike is my Lightning node trying to find a route...

To all the people talking about "Use it to pay the debt" the "savings" is debt. All of that money was future spending. This is the equivalent of taking out a loan to pay another loan at the same rates. None of this means anything besides to whom the money goes. Giving it back to citizens is stealing from your left pocket to put it in your right (at interest). Write the debt off as lost capital, move on.
Yeah, as silly as that is, that's how adoption works. First it's "fax but better," then with more technical adoption, you get more accurate analogies. It's about bringing the laymen to you not standing still and calling them idiots for bot being where you are.
Yeah, and Email is nothing like paper mail, they should call THAT something else TOO! I mean who needs a sociological analogy to create familiarization for a completely novel concept? Let's just go with the new thing and not worry about wide spread adoption through physical analogues!

Exactly.
