Watching some classic muppet movies with my daughter before fireworks start popping off in the neighborhood ๐๐ Really incredible to revisit Jim Henson's work as an adult. Trying to get all the things packed for the kid's road trip with his grandparents (they pull out in the morning). As much as he knows how to press the right buttons to make me more frustrated than I've ever been, I'm sure going to miss him while he's out doing all the fun stuff. I try to make sure that I don't make too big of a deal because I don't want him to get upset because I'm upset, but I do make sure he knows that we miss him while he's gone and that we're so happy that he's able to have these experiences. Getting harrassed by a third grader to doxx myself this morning in a chat. We have a private chat set up for the yarncheese kid and some friends, little sis of one of the kids got brother's tablet this morning and the harrassment started ๐. But this became a discussion about privacy as the first thing this little girl did was get out of the public chat and sent a message straight to me and sent a picture of her face. I repeatedly had to tell her to go back in to the group chat and finally she did and she sent 2 more pictures of hersef there. I'm not anti putting your face out there, but for this young girl to immediately take a picture of her face and put it out there scares me on her behalf. In the end, her dad was told, the time limit ran out on the tablet, and my identity is safe. #momstr #parentstr #kidstr

Parenting is sometimes harder than others, having big conversations is so important but there is a need to be delicate so they can still come to their own conclusions. I'm always surprised and pleased when the yarn-cheese kid thinks about these things and you can see the gears working and it clicks. I wish my parents had these conversations with me so I'd be better prepared to have them with him. Break the cycle (if it hasn't been) with your kids! #momstr #parentstr #kidstr

If your kids are picky (mine's not thank goodness), try making different dishes in to meatballs. We had enchilada meatballs tonight, we've had chicken teriyaki meatballs, meatloaf meatballs, orange chicken meatballs, and I'm sure a few others. This is not the way... I've found much more joy in not taking a million pictures or videos and just enjoying the moment. And the kid HATES when anyone pulls out the phone now. #parentstr ok so i used to be able to go on spinny rides even just a few years ago at the theme park. went on the lamest, piddliest spinny ride today with my 4 yr old daughter. was very nauseous, sick. i want to be able to do stuff like this with her, any meds or recommendations other parents have for like...getting back some ability to go on a spinny ride? ๐

Perhaps a week ago I posted a note that I was going to get a CD player for my 3 yr old daughter so that she can have her own collection of CDs and play music when she wanted...and learn a little basic autonomy with picking when and what to listen to, when to stop the music, and basic skills around taking care of things important to her such as the CDs and the player itself ( up to this point, she just asks me or her mom to play music and it magically comes out of our phones). I was able to get a cd player today that fits our needs perfectly! I was tempted to just go the amazon route but there was something so...awful feeling about buying a new CD player from amazon. Luckily, I was able to find one for sale on craigslist and made the trade in a super market parking lot.
