AFAIK it is nostr protocol limitation, not clients' unwillingness to notify
So far it is the only issue in nostr I don't like But it might be actually a tradeoff between precise users (well followers) count and privacy
Regarding proposals - I think the easiest solution is to use inbox so that follower notifies the one who they follow, then they add it to an encrypted list for caching purposes When unfollowing, unfollower notifies the one who they unfollow and the entry is removed from encrypted list (used as a cache) Any thoughts?
