Little by little, more and more nostr players embrace #tor. I remember dragging primal through the mud because of it and they eventually fixed it. Some big nostr names are left. I would implore people to get a low end server, learn some #Linux, and just roll your own. It takes more effort but you get updates from the developers quicker and I bet it's much more stable. Also you don't have to be #Tor only.

#privacytechpro tip: provide anonymity for yourself and others. use tor more often, not just for mission critical "secret" stuff. the anonymity tor provides comes from blending in with the crowd. i.e. more traffic is better. use it for everything that supports it and makes sense based on your threat model (probably not your bank, financial institutions, or netflix). if your email supports tor (like proton etc), start checking your email over tor, read the news over tor. use tor with https sites that don't ban tor, especially use them when they have an official hidden services onion site. even facebook has a hidden services onion site where they can't see your ip (they can over clearnet) even without a vpn. note: i do not recommend using fb...ever. show companies that blacklist tor that tor is for everyday legitimate privacy and anonymity purposes not just for "suspicious activity". normalize using the tor network. p.s. malicious exit nodes cannot see your traffic if it is encrypted ex: tls (https sites) or .onion sites. http sites are not encrypted and should be avoided whever possible. #cybersecgirl #privacytechpro #tor #privacy #infosec #opsec https://www.torproject.org/ https://proton.me/blog/tor-encrypted-email

used to recommend #alby + #zeus for onboarding (as a cheap fee custodial wallet for zaps on #nostr) ...until alby dropped the ball a couple weeks ago and stopped supporting one tap zapping over #amethyst when connected to #orbot/tor. now it's just zeus (node in a phone) for onboarding 🔥 i can't recommend alby to noobs anymore until they actually care about fixing what used to work. smh. alby support, your "sorry we can't help with that because cloudflare" reply just doesn't cut it. deleting my account now #infosec #tor #cybersecgirl
