Do you ever wonder what your life would be like, if you'd just married a gazillionaire and retired at 25 with a watertight prenup? Yeah. I never wonder about that, either.
Being a trophy sounds like a sweet deal. Just have to subsist off of green smoothies and/or steak, and hang out all day at the gym or the pool. I'm more the housekeeper-who-pays-for-your-next-car-with-her-side-gig-does-your-taxes-and-revamps-your-devops-toolchain type of wife, but we can't all be winners. At least, he has zero interest in replacing me. 😅 I mean, like, where do you get a second one, KWIM? Job security, ftw.

Yeah, like in the Old Testament, where you were supposed to marry your brother's widow (ewwww...), so that she doesn't starve to death 🤷♀️ because only wives got to eat or something, and men would frantically keep adding concubines and wives, in the hope of producing an heir and a bunch of spares, and then their harem was always squabbling and stabbing each other and the sons were raping their half-sisters and marrying their cousins (that narrow gene pool, ftw) and everyone was inbred as heck. Literal stone age. 😅

I've always had a fully-formed personality and strongly-held opinions, so my options were sort of limited and I had to find someone who actually liked me. Which, in retrospect, is kinda nice. Winning at marriage is having a spouse who would cry real tears at your funeral. #justsaying
It's like that for all of us. I used to be able to do jump-splits, but that would probably break my hip, now. 😅
Once you do the math and realize that monogamy has spread like wildfire, internationally, as a cultural meme, because it leads to higher societal productivity, as married men have a reason to work harder and smarter, it all makes sense.

I'm saying that giving one man one wife makes him work really hard and desire greater net-productivity, so that he can support and protect at least two people. That same man doesn't work harder, if you give him two wives. Each wife just gets less support and protection. And some other guy works less, as he then has zero wives. Productivity correlates with monogamy. That's why polygamous cultures usually get quickly overwhelmed by monogamous ones, and why the habit has been dying out.
