None of that is even remotely true and that's not how technology works. We had applications and operating systems on desktop, it was only a matter of time before they ended up on phones as similar or different operating systems and infrastructure. Just because Apple released their os first doesn't change the fact the same functionality was being developed by others simultaneously.
This isn't even remotely true. Android began development in 2003 and was bought by Google in 2005. The trend to mobile computing was always a matter of time. To say smartphones wouldn't exist without ios is like saying computers wouldn't exist without windows operating system.
I've always advocated for apps to be accessible on any platform you can put it on.
The only difference is you can sideload on Android and either install an app directly or use fdroid. Neither Google or Apple have anyone's back, but at least one of them still has some ties to open source through aosp.
Apple doesn't care about its own users let alone those of an app on its app store.
There are many devs, he said when he stepped down he wasn't doing much in the way of development anyway. If he was the sole dev that would be an issue but the project is made of many people. I hope he gets help, because he was in a very unhealthy state of mind for a while now and hopefully is focusing on being happy.

I like both platforms, and have curated my time line on both. Nostr is much easier to curate Twitter you have to use the following tab and spend more time vetting. Either way incinuating that Musk will control the election narrative on Twitter basically boils down to she doesn't like and can't debate contradicting ideas and Twitter isn't giving into US political party requests. I am however, not all too happy about musk catering to other countries while calling himself a free speech "absolutist."
