Watching some classic muppet movies with my daughter before fireworks start popping off in the neighborhood 🎆🎆 Really incredible to revisit Jim Henson's work as an adult. i'm quite stoked i'm gonna have some old school pressed DVD copies of two of my favourite, very hard to find movies of all time: Nirvana - starring Christopher Lambert playing a game programmer whose lead character in a game called Nirvana has become self aware and his quest to fulfill the character's request to delete him - italian - hopefully they have the italian voice track on it cos the american dub is classic crappy italian english dub - ah dammit i think i may have got a version without the italian track on it... eh... will see i guess... have to get the italian voice track version if so The Eternal - was released in Australia as "Trance" - a movie about an american expat couple returning to ireland for some farm they just inherited, and the uncle taking care of the place has dug up a bunch of peat bog mummies that come to life https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0158011/ both of these are super cheezeball but with two of the best crappy actors in the history of cinema, and really fun storylines, have to have them, can't even torrent either of them #moviestr #cheese #christopherlambert #christopherwalken

#grownostr #moviestr Last Friday I watched the movie 'Tremors' for the first time in about 20 years. It's a real great creature feature from right before usage of CGI became mainstream in such movies to make the effects and the monosters. There was one relatively simple moment though that made me basically spit my beer all over my the place. At one points early in the movie, the main characters and manly man heroes, Val and Earl, get out of their truck to enter the town market. On their way in, Earl (played by Fred Ward) turns to the local teenage troublemaker in town and non nonchalantly says 'Sup, pizzaface.' Imagining myself ..how soul crushing as a teenage boy being called Pizzaface by a grown man would have been made me laugh pretty hard. A great moment in a very fun movie. Oh, and of course you've got Reba McEntire going HAM on some graboids too. For Palindrome, Frampton selected images which he described as "tending towards the biomorphic," resembling abstract surrealist painting. However, the rigid palindromic structure that Frampton imposes on the images-a motorized sequence based on "twelve variations on each of forty congruent phrases"-deviates from the subjective aesthetic of the expressive, demonstrating Frampton's interest in the "generative power" of films composed by rules and principles.
