damn, i saw #mochi the #catstr sitting in the second floor window looking like he might be tempted to run down the wall and splat himself uncomfortably on the grass
ok, i'm gonna have to visit a hardware store and find some solution for preventing his escape now he is becoming a healthy, mischievous kitty and no longer in a fog of gingevitis and earache pain, i have a hacksaw and i guess i could get a hammer and some framing pieces and build some mochi-proof chickenwire cat-retention apparatus
gonna have to think about it quite a lot because as summer warms up it's gonna get hot up there and i don't want to think about him running away and coming back covered in ticks
i know it's gotta be pretty solid, cos he already busted out of the bathroom window, which is made of shitty aluminium and cheap plastic parts, so i know he's both ingenious and strong
i would like to have insect screens actually but making them catproof will not be easy, especially being that they have to be attached to the outside of the building, so, yeah, chickenwire and framing wood, and some proper metal retaining pieces that are mochi-proof
it's fine for right now, but in 2 months it's gonna be a big problem if i can't have air flow out those windows
i'm thinking actually i want to really go all in on this, by what the agent has said, i can extend my stay here in this beautiful spot another year so i think i should try and find out how i can get cat-proof stainless steel insect mesh screens attached to the bathroom and two upstairs windows on the outside... with these, you still get some view but no bugs and they are ventilation in the most important openings in the building, AND they let me keep the cat inside
probably will only cost maybe max 200 euros and that would be chickenfeed for the amount of confidence it wil give me, i can keep all the main interior shutters and windows closed but have good ventilation in summer, and not a great deal of interference with the view outside, AND no mosquitoes coming in the always open windows, while the weather is warm
gonna ask the agent about this idea, i'm betting he might be able to find a source and get it done for me with the owner's approval, i'm happy to pay for it, i just want everything to be pleasant and not have this cat run away, and if i can have no mosquitoes in the house, that's gravy
