so, third day of giving #mochi the #catstr his once a day medicines, a liquid of some sort for the gingevitis and i assume an antibiotic, and he really fought with me this time, yesterday i just put it in his food and that was fine, but i thought i'd would try to do it properly today and he foughl like a demon, and consequently during the first one, giving the pill, he bit down on his tongue because i was trying to hold him but for sure gotta say the pinch the back of the neck and lift up helps a lot but when he starts to get fighty because his front legs are free to move he tries to push you away
poor little guy, never nice seeing blood, mine or his, i only got a few scratches because i prepare for this but i'm just gonna put it in his food for the rest of the course, i mean, half the juice stuff ends up all over me and the surfaces around anyway because he is so unhappy about it, i'm betting it gets into him just fine mixed with food, and the same with the tablet
cleaning the ears and putting in the eye drops is quick and simple and a lot less painful for him
oof i feel terrible though, seeing the blood from his tongue like that
but i gotta do it, damn, the results of these treatments is already really visible, even, in the way he was fighting back, he would never have been able to fight back like that before
:`( still feel bad about it though, poor little guy
hopefully i can just do it with his food from here on and not have a repeat of this mornings administrations
to be honest, if i was to do this again, i'd beg them to just hold him and treat him with their expert handling than me trying to give him medicines
it wolud be different if it was a small, fully domesticated kitten but this one spent maybe 6 months hard life sick and strtuggling to survive outside with big mean boy cats all around
it's not surprising to me that he's not as trusting of the hooman, but i guess once this treatment is complete he's probably never gonna hardly be sick again in his life
and as it was, he was coping with the pain in his ears and sinus and mouth like a trooper, but man it's good to see him changing, the tongue not protruding, the manic ear cleaning, the flinching reaction when you touch around his face, and the way he was shaking his head afterwards
all of those things are now becoming less frequent and intense, and i'm just so skeptical anyway that it is right they provide these medicines for people to give to their pets in such an unfriendly and threatening way, squirting liquids, shoving pills down their throat, i mean, why isn't it a nice meat tasting biscuit or something, i mean, ffs, who the fuck comes up with this shit
i just managed to give him his first ear clean/treatment for the day, and it was quite chill, and now he is eating him a nice big can of tuna
what's nice is that the eye treatment is definitely doing the job, to the point where i can now see a lot more of his iris, and he does indeed have big pretty eyes like his local relative cats, there is a really chonky longhair one, who i think has been daddy for several of the local strays, by the longhair and black and white genes, and his eyes are yuge
and when my mochi's eyes are more wide open because they are healing, he looks prettier too
honestly i don't really see the purpose in me visiting the vet again, holy cow it was expensive, the vet fees and then the taxi fee on top, i'm seeing so much good results from this treatment it seems to me like he simply will just eat more food and sleep better and his God-given nature will take care of the rest, he just needed a little lift over the bumps
seeing him feeding now, also, he's definitely eating more food, and lack of eating food was the main bad thing visible in his bloods... so i think that the fixing of the gingevitis and the ear infection he's going great
now, also, i have an idea what is up with the local stray who haunts the supermarket begging for food... she probably has the ear infection as well as the gingevitis
idk what i can do for her tho, i'm not exactly so flush i can help all the little ones who need it
i just feed her whenever she is there and mooching around for some dinner
there is a whole clan of these black and white kitties in this area, also, i observed three more over the other side of the mountain... all of them with the white cheeks and stripe up the bridge of the nose and various patterns of white underneath, patches of black on the leg here and there and mostly black tail and black over the back
i've always considered this type of cat to be pretty much the best kind of cat, and i've owned black and white cats like, i think mochi is my 4th black and white cat
i really liked the russians, when i was in serbia, we had this special little grey one who appeared as a kitten of the mother cat who was the house cat, pica she was called (say like pizza, it means "bitch" in serbian) she popped out this almost pedigree grade russian, only the eyes were not quite right, and there was a serious incident with him, he seemed to have cut a huge gash in his hind quarters, maybe falling on some broken glass, and his daddy was hunting him, and he disappeared and a month or two later we are pretty sure that a neighbour took him in
anyway, silver, or black and white, both kinds of kitties are especially awesome, IME.
