I just bought 9 months of nostr:nprofile1qqsy9j5dc2t3cla22n3ryflrxvxvd3rzpyxcp3ul3khr8de8unp0fwspz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd3skueqpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqa2f7xn access to make myself more accessible to new Nostr users.
For anyone outside my network who wants to DM or interact with me, I now have a reliable, non-WoT, non-paid alternative.
Please don’t abuse this, and only gift-wrapped DMs if you want me to read it. If your Nostr client doesn’t support this, consider downloading 0xChat.
Since many clients still struggle with the Outbox model, here’s a recap of my current relay setup.
- Folks in my WoT can DM me on wss://haven.accioly.social/chat and tag me on wss://haven.accioly.social/inbox or wss://wot.utxo.one.
- Folks outside my WoT can DM me on wss://nostr.land. I’m also on wss://theforest.nostr1.com, so paying 300 sats once is still the best way to ensure that I receive your replies, mentions, etc if you are outside my network.
To anyone who has DMed, tagged me, or otherwise reached out without getting a reply: I’m not intentionally ignoring you or isolating users outside my network. Public free relays open the floodgates to bots and "older" npubs basically can't get a break.
Hopefully, this new setup will improve things.

https://theforest.nostr1.com (a community relay) and https://thecitadel.nostr1.com (a document relay), from #GitCitadel, are two of the Top-30 liveliest #relays, now. No spam, no porn, no scammers. Just real Nostriches interacting.
We are getting two more sets of mirrors, as well, hosted on different providers and run by different admins. And both relays also stream to different sets of relays, as well as to each other.
Together with your local relay (I recommend #Citrine 🍋 on Android), subscribers don't really need anything else. I only use theforest (inbox and outbox) and thecitadel (inbox), as my relays, now. This has caused my bandwidth usage to go waaaaay down.

I'm giving away access to my paid Nostr1.com Public Inbox/Outbox relay for a year to five people! Exciting times, huh?
rocky.nostr1.com is a paid relay running strfty (v0.9.6), hosted by relay.tools on redundant, high-availability hardware that performs with 99% uptime.
This is a full-featured relay with appropriate permissions for its function, supporting NIPs 1, 2, 4, 9, 11, 12, 16, 20, 22, 28, 33, and 40. Response time for Europe and North America is <500ms. Robust spam protection is included, but otherwise the relay is wide open with no restrictions (besides CSAM and solicitations for murder). All events are allowed. Currently, less than a dozen people have access, so there are plenty of resources to handle your notes and traffic.
If you'd like to win access for a year, just zap this note any amount, and I'll randomly select five users tomorrow (Sunday) at 11pm UTC. If you don't win but would still like access, standard admission is a one-time 2000 sat fee. The five winners will also be offered permanent access after their free year for a discounted 1000 sat fee. #contest #relays #blog
